“Baby Yoda” Pattern

This pattern is written in US crochet terms

ABBREVIATIONS

Ch: Chain

Sc: Single crochet

Hdc: Half double crochet

1 inc: Single crochet 2 stitches in the same stitch

1 dec: Single crochet 2 stitches together 

sl: Slip Stitch 

MATERIALS YOU NEED:

  • Yarn in green, beige, and gray

  • Size G crochet hook 4.25 mm (or the size you need depending on your yarn type)

  • Tapestry needle

  • Piece of thread (to attach the eyes)

  • 8mm black beads (or safety eyes)

  • Polyester filling

  • Stitch marker or little piece of different color yarn


Baby Yoda is crocheted in the style of amigurumi. You are going to crochet in a continuous spirl-do not join the rounds-

Use a little piece of different color yarn or a stitch marker to mark the beginning of the rounds


HEAD

with green yarn 

Start with a magic ring

R1: 6 sc into the magic ring (6)

R2: (1 inc) x6 (12)

R3: (1 sc, 1 inc)

R4: (2 sc, 1 inc)* till the end of row

R5:  sc row

R6: sc row

R7: -this is the row you will add the eyes- *PICTURES BELOW TO SHOW YOU STEP by STEP*

3 sc, pull yarn around hook loose. Add the thread through the loop. Slip the thread into 

one end of the 8 mm bead and pull through. Pull all the way through till the bead is at

base of the yarn. Remove the thread and put your crochet hook back into the loop. 

Tighten the yarn around the hook. 

-sc next 5 stitches

-Put in the second eye (same way)

-sc rest of the row

R8: sc row

R9: sc row

R10: (2sc, 1 dec)* till the end of row

R11: (1 sc, dec)* till the end of row

R12: (dec) x6

Cut the yarn

BODY

With beige yarn

Start with magic ring

R1: 6 sc into the magic ring

R2: (1 inc) x6

R3: (1 sc, inc)* till the end of row

R4-8: sc row

R9: (1 sc, dec)* till the end of row

R10: (dec) x6

Cut the yarn but leave a tail to sew onto the head

JACKET

With beige yarn

R1: Ch 21

R2-6: Hdc Row

R7: (1 inc) next 4 stitches-then hdc till the last 4 stitches. Last 4 stitches (1 inc) into the last 4 stitches

Cut the yarn but leave a tail to sew onto the body

EARS (make two)

With green yarn

Start with magic ring

R1: 6 sc into the magic ring

R2: (1 inc) x6

R3: Sc row

R4: Sc row

R5: (1 sc, inc)* till the end of row

R6: (2 sc, inc)* till the end of row

R7: Sc row

R8: Sc row

R9: (2sc, dec)*till the end of row

R10: Sc row

R11: Sl st close

Cut the yarn but leave a tail to cinch the ears and to sew onto head

ARMS (make two)

With green yarn

Start with magic ring

R1: 6 sc into the magic ring

R2: Sc row

add beige yarn

R3-5: Sc row

Cut yarn but leave a tail to sew onto the body

BOTTOM POD

With gray yarn

Start with magic ring

R1: 6 sc into magic ring

R2: (1 inc) x6

R3: (1 sc, inc)* till end of row
