Art On The River

Festival Information

Welcome Bass Pro Outdoor Days!

All are welcome to come out onAugust 26, 2017 to enjoy live music, great food, and family-friendly, hands-on environmental educational activities at the annual Race for the Rivers Festival!

The festival serves as the headquarters for the  Race for the Rivers canoe/kayak races and the  Ride for the Rivers bike race. It’s the perfect place to keep tabs on the leaderboards as you mingle with the racers and peruse local food and crafts booths. Best of all, it’s a prime spot to watch the racers cross the flying finish line!

The festival is held at  Frontier Park, 500 S. Riverside Drive in Historic St. Charles, MO. It kicks off at 11:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM. The festival is FREE, including activities and music. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Activities

All ages are welcome to join in the FREE festivities! However, please note that St. Charles does not allow pets on the park grounds during festival hours.

Fun for Everyone

  • Thoughtprocess Interactive Leaderboard: Check racing times (updated throughout the day) and see images from the race as they come in.
  • On-shore viewing: Bring a chair or relax on the grass as you cheer your favorite racers across the finish line.
  • On shore boat races: Fun for all ages
  • River rides: Paddle the Missouri River in a Junebug! Courtesy of Mrs. Pat Jones.  Visitors of all ages can experience the Big Muddy up close and personal in a voyageur class canoe (similar to those used by Lewis and Clark) with the experts from Big Muddy Adventures and Quapaw Canoe Company. Rides are FREE and are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. This is an active adventure and your shoes are likely to get muddy, so please come prepared.
  • Comfort station: Fill your water bottle for free!
  • Stream Trash Art: See what local artists have created using trash pulled from local rivers and streams.
  • Check out alternative fuel vehicles on display from GM.
  • Bike repairs and assistance from Bike Stop Cafe and Katy Bike Rental.
  • Boat corral: Check out the canoes and kayaks and talk to the racers.
  • Missouri Falun Dafa Association: Free demonstration.
  • St. Charles Area Radio Club: Learn about ham radio communications and listen as they monitor the progress of the racers along the course of the river.
